State Games Jr/Sr. Trap June 20, 2010
The Lincoln Izaak Walton League will be running a summer youth trap league that will start on Monday, May 10th and will be held each Monday through June 21st, with the exception of Memorial Day Weekend. The league will last for 6 weeks and we will use all 6 scores to determine awards.
Shooting Times: 6:00p.m.
Competition will consist of one round of 16 yards and one round of handicap with the yardage based on the 16 yard score and a minimum of 18 yards. Shooting ahead and make-ups will be allowed based on time constraints and awards are based on individual coompetition.
Cost: $3.00 per round of 25 or $6.00 per evening.
Awards will be presented for the following categories*:
* Based on the number of competitors, runner-up awards may also be presented
Individuals will be restricted to winning only one award.
An awards banquet will take place on Monday, June 28th at 6:00p.m., with details at a later date. This is different than past years, to allow for adequate time to determine awards after the last shoot.
Like in the past we will need volunteers to help pull, score and load houses when needed. If anyone is interested in volunteering for this please contact either Dave or my self.
High School Trap
This spring the Izaak Walton trap range is the host practice location for five trap teams. Lincoln Southeast and Lincoln Southwest will practice on Monday and Wednesday while Lincoln East, Lincoln Pius X and Lancaster County 4-H will practice on Tuesday and Thursday.
Combined these teams account for approximately 150 junior and senior high shooters. These teams compete in the Eastern Nebraska Cornhusker Conference which is divided into three divisions due to the ever increasing number of shooters. The Lincoln Izaak Walton League range is part of the Central Division. The conference season runs for the seven consecutive Saturdays with the season finale at Doniphan at the National Cornhusker Trap Shoot. Lincoln Izaak Walton League will host two conference shoots, March 28th and April 18st . Ikes members are always welcome to help run these meets.
