Youth Activities
Hunter Safety
Hunter Education is required for anyone who is 12 years or older and born on or after Jan 1, 1977 who wishes to hunt in Nebraska. Bow hunter education is required of anyone 12 or older, born on or after Jan. 1, 1977 who wishes to hunt big game with a bow. Many surrounding states require Hunter Education of most out of state hunters. The Lincoln Izaak Walton League carries a strong tradition of investing in our future to enhance our rich hunting heritage. With its up-to-date facilities and large club house, the Chapter is the perfect site for teaching the Nebraska Hunter Education Program. Since 1974, Hunter Education has been responsible for saving many lives while at the same time enhancing the ethics of our hunting sports.
Maintained by volunteers, Hunter Education is taught each year at the Lincoln Ike's. Classes are generally taught in the spring and fall. Classes can be located on the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission website at outdoornebraska.org then under NGPC Programs then under Hunter Education.
You can also call Tiffani at (402)471-5558 to register for classes. All classes have limited seating and require pre registration. To inquire about Hunter Education classes at the Ike's call Jeff Rawlinson at (402)471-6133.
