THE SUMMER TRAP LEAGUE
The Summer Trap League is a 17 week league and typically starts in mid April and ends in August. Bill Siedhoff (402)423-5525 is the Ikes member supervising this league. The league is made up of teams sponsored by various businesses or the team can elect to sponsor themselves. A $85.00 sponsorship fee is charged and this money is used for awards at the awards dinner at the end of the shooting season. Both Ikes members and non-Ikes members are invited to shoot. The team roster with up to ten shooters along with the sponsorship fee is required before shooting starts.
Shooting typically starts at 6:30 in the evening and ends at 9:00 or 9:30. The team that shoots at 6:30 one week will shoot at 7:00 the next week. Only the team members on the rooster are allowed to shoot. The first four weeks of shooting are done from the twenty yard line and the team scores during this four week period determines if the team shoots in class AA, class A, class B, class C, class D, or Class E. Two rounds of 25 rocks are shot each night and the teams shoots against another team in their class. One point is awarded to the winning team for each round. During the season the teams are moved back one yard in yardage when they win two games.
